A girl asked a guy if he thought she was pretty: he said...no. She asked him if he would want to be with her forever....and he said no. She then asked him if she were to leave would he cry, and once again he replied with a no.
She had heard enough. As she walked away, tears streaming down her face the boy grabbed her arm and said....
You're not pretty you're beautiful. I dont want to be with you forever. I NEED to be with you forever. And I wouldnt cry if you walked away...I'd die...

Mmm packing isn't fun. I've moved too much. Though this time it is kind of weird since I am not simply packing all of my stuff--instead, I am having to pick and choose what I want to bring.
Meow.
Good luck to all you kids who move today and tomorrow. And Friday for that matter.
Umm my clothes all smell like cigarette smoke. Problem = I'm not home enough to wash them. Answer = ? Don't wash my clothes? Febreeze? I don't know. Now the smell has memories attached to it. That is just sick and wrong. Screw having cinnamon and flowery scents bring back memories. Next time I want to remember you, I am just going to light up.

So, I was on my way home from work today--I work at the state capital if you didn't know--and I was taking 19th Ave home because it usually isn't too bad traffic wise.
And then I reached McDowell.
I thought that maybe there was a train or something because sometimes I get stuck behind those, but I didn't see or hear one so I thought that maybe there was a car accident.
Then it came to me...
"President Bush will be arriving in Phoenix this afternoon around 3 and will be speaking...*blah blah blah*"
>.< It was an oh shit moment for sure.
I didn't like the President to begin with and if he was going to be the cause of my waiting in traffic on my way home from an 8 hour work day, I was going to like him even less.
I began to wonder how many people would actually take their time and stand out in the 113 degree weather to see this constipated elfish man.
Then I saw the signs the people were holding up:
"Down with Dubba-ya"
"We need a regime change"
"The Real Evil-Axis" <--this one was cool, it was like a play off the Real World and had the same letter format and all of the Bush administration floating heads
And then there were the pro-Kerry people with their signs asking you to honk if you were voting for Kerry, not Bush.
And in the middle of all this madness, I saw one poor scared Bush supporter with his little Bush/Cheney 2004 sign. I almost felt bad for him.
I didn't mind sitting in traffic anymore.
***Disclaimer: This post is not to entice political views or arguements on my journal--it is merely my account of my journey home today, so please don't get pissy with me if you support Bush! Thanks!***

Ummm we are starting to wonder where people are going to walk.
Haha.
But now we have cool drawer-things, a striped rug, two video game bean bag chairs (two different colors!), lamps, and a phone with a voicemail box thing built in!
And she scrapbooks too! :) Yay! We decided we will have certain weeks where it is scrapbooking time so the room can be a whirlwind of pictures, colored paper, scissors, markers, and stickers!
We decided no go on the futon thing to save space. So you people coming to visit will have to become mighty friendly with Mr.Fakeassfloorlikeatschoolwithnopaddingunderitbecausecollegekidsarestupid Carpet.

Chrissy and I had fun tonight. The quotes add up to something along the lines of:
"Sure, exploit gays for their steamy sex, but don't let them get married!"
and
"Great! My sandwich is an episode of Buffy."
Good times shopping. I got a cute skirt. And a shirt to go with it...because I wanted something cute for NAU. Horrible though since I should be buying stuff to LIVE on, not wear.

| AHAHAHAH!!! I figured it out! NAU WAS SUPPOSED TO BE AN INSANE ASYLUM! |
[06 Aug 2004|02:17pm] |
In 1893, the Seventeenth Arizona Territorial Legislature authorized a "Reform School" to be built to instruct boys (the Territory's "viscious youth") from the ages of eight to sixteen in the trades and in general education. The Nineteenth Territorial Legislature then decided to use the building, constructed by this time, as a ward for Arizona's mentally ill. However, an insane asylum had opened in Phoenix in 1887. Phoenix did not want a competing facility in Flagstaff. According to the Phoenix Enterprise, "[A]ll physicians were agreed that Phoenix was the proper place for all the insane people, and that no sane men would permit any of them to be sent to Flagstaff." Accordingly, in 1895, Governor Hughes recommended that the federal government should assist in creating a National Summer School of Science, with the empty building serving as its headquarters. The first summer session was in 1896, with Lowell Observatory serving as the major drawing card in attracting academics from around the country. Concurrently, Prescott, spurred on by the Territorial Normal School in Tempe, agitated for a normal school of its own. Amidst this parochial bickering, a Phoenix editorial suggested using Flagstaff's now-infamous building as a summer school or college, or, better yet, "sell[ing] it to some speculators to be used as a hotel; [it is] better to dispose of the structure as a sleep house than to keep it where it cannot be used profitably [by] the territory." Fortunately, and to Flagstaff's delight, Henry F. Ashurst, on February 9, 1899, introduced House Bill 41 allowing for the establishment of Northern Arizona Normal School. And the rest, they say, is history! (Source: Arizona Highways, vol.XLII, no. 3, May 1966, pp. 10-31.)
Seems unimportant to those who didn't know that NAU wasn't always NAU, so I did a google search (I knew it was ASC, but that's it):
Northern Arizona Normal School 1899-1925 Northern Arizona State Teachers College 1925-29 Arizona State Teachers College at Flagstaff 1929-45 Arizona State College at Flagstaff 1945-66 Northern Arizona University 1966-date
^.^ I am satisfied now. My school is for all the crazies. YAY!
So, that is what Old Main was/is. Heheh. This is getting better and better.

Okay, after I saw Chrissy's post about her NM pics, I remember all the stuff I had heard about that darn dorm. So I was googling it today and I found this in some girl's old blog entry. I liked it better than the "haunted" sites because she actually lived there.
"Yes, I lived in North Morton, the residence hall on campus that was supposedly a former mentally insane asylum and the home to Kathy. Strange things did happen there. I certainly did not enjoy walking through the halls at night by myself, no matter how well lit they were. My door did open and shut one time all of its own free will. Whether that was Kathy's doing or not, I may never know. It's probably better that way.
I've heard Kathy's story two ways. Either her fiance was killed in the war or he left her for another woman. Whichever tale you choose to believe, it ends the same way. She hung herself in her dorm room.
Afterwards, some say her room was closed off. Others say it's still occupied. I guess the maintenance people tried to paint the room white before passing it off on someone else to cover the blood stains (where they came from, I do not know), but every time they attempted this, the next day the room would be pink again. Kathy's favorite color."
Oh yeah--something I think is scary--do the 360 degree view of the room on the NAU site. There are freaking bars on the door. *shudders* Screw that. That is just messed up.

| Amusing evening... |
[05 Aug 2004|08:39pm] |
So Auna, Dave and I were at Walmart and there was this crazy group of people.
WTF came to mind.
And this woman told us it was because Pamela Anderson was going to be there soon or something.
But we gave up and just walked to the back to see Stephen in electronics.
And there she was walking the opposite direction on the same row as us.
It was amusing.
And she looks older than I thought she would.
We still couldn't figure out what she was doing there--but Auna cleared that up really fast.
"Because all of her biggest fans shop here."

I met Kirsta ^.^ She is really awesome.
Together we have the power of two refrigerators, one microwave, two TVS (we will only bring one though), one fan, one toad, one (maybe two) fish, and a whole lot of coolness!
It was so awesome to meet her. Seems like we will have a good time as roommates. I am glad that things worked out like they did. I think it will be great :)
